Tirra estate is owned by Coopetarrazu and the cherry grown here is processed by the cooperative’s own mill. The farm was bought with the goal to conduct coffee research amongst its co-operative members, with the added benefit of producing micro-lots. More than 60% of the 100-hectare farm is dedicated to coffee production, with optimum soil and climate being utilised by highly experienced producers.
Coopetarrazu has a rich history of coffee in Costa Rica, established in 1960 and located in San Marcos within the respected Tarrazu region. They own and operate the largest wet mill in Costa Rica, and are focused towards the well-being of their members as well as economic returns for their community. This naturally processed lot is a reflection of the quality of the micro-lot program of Coopetarrazu, and will directly fund the supply of organic fertilizer and shade trees to their member producers.
We love the fruity notes of this coffee as a pour-over, through the batch brewer (Moccasmaster) or even as a macchiato (with a very fine grind for the espresso shot)
Tasting Notes: Clean cup with soft raspberry, passionfruit, florals and warm spice notes. The silky-smooth body carries a milk chocolate finish.
