This is a classic Sidamo flavour profile, berries, floral notes and a winey sweet finish, we love it as an espresso and long blacks, but if you are a fan of African coffee (which we are!) then it works equally well as a flat white or latte.

We roast this to a medium level and it's perfect for filter coffee, Aeropress, V60, clever coffee dripper and also in the batch brewers etc or you can  drink it as espresso, but also works in a plunger, mokka pot (stovetop) and also through the Aeropress - it's such a flexible bean

Our supplier, Daye Bensa was established in 2006 by two brothers, Asefa & Mulugeta Dukamo who have been working as coffee suppliers from the Sidama region.

Since its establishment, the company has shown a progress in size, volume and in quality by attracting potential coffee buyers from across the world. Under Daye Bensa, they have sixteen coffee washing stations and four dry coffee processing mills in Bensa, Aroressa, and Chire. They have an export coffee processing centre in Addis Ababa where head office is situated.

The Abore station was named after a bridge made and dedicated to a local chief and a fountain next to the site and bridge. Well known by the locals, it was originally built and founded in 1997. Many employees have been working there since it was founded. The washing station is located beside a beautiful waterfall. The equipment at this washing station includes depulping and pressurised sorting machinery, fermentation tanks, washing tunnels, and African beds. There are dedicated wastage pools on site for natural treatment as part of their strict environmental guidelines, to reduce the environmental impact caused by coffee processing.

Grown and harvested at Bombe, Sidamo, Ethiopia, a place known for its rich vegetation and climate. This coffee is sourced from local nearby farmers. 1022 farmers contribute actively to this washing station who harvest between December and February each year. The coffee elevation ranges between 1920 - 2020 masl, with sunny and humid climate conditions. The annual rainfall in this region falls between 1599-1799mm.
