The Opus 2 is a home grinder that covers everything from espresso to cold brew on one set of burrs. Fellow moved up to 48mm stainless steel conical burrs for this version, and the grind dial is now stepless, so you can make small changes to dial in a shot or a pour over rather than jumping between fixed clicks.

It's built for single dosing. Weigh your beans, tip up to 100g into the load bin, and it stops by itself when it's done. A built in ioniser cuts the static, so the grounds land in the cup instead of clinging to it, and very little coffee is left behind in the grinder. An espresso dose takes about nine seconds.

Two magnetic catch cups come in the box. The 100g cup is for brewed coffee. The 30g espresso dosing cup fits 54mm and 58mm portafilters, which covers most Breville home machines and most commercial style machines, so check your basket size before you order. If yours is something else, the standard cup still works, you'll just move the grounds across by hand.

The burrs come out without tools for cleaning, and a magnetic brush is included.

Grinding fresh right before you brew is the biggest single upgrade most home setups can make. This is the grinder we'd point you to for it.
